Everything you need to know about the opportunity, the certification, and what it means to be a certified DI trainer.

Common Questions Answered

Do I have to be a current teacher to be a trainer? +
No, you do not have to be a current teacher. However, your audience is teachers and you will be working within schools. Most trainers have spent time as an educator in a K–12 school, university, technical college, preschool, youth camp, or church group and understand the needs of schools.
Can I continue teaching while training? +
Yes — and we hope you do. Most of our trainers are active teachers and administrators. Your participants will relate to you because you are in the trenches too. It is not uncommon for many of our trainers to earn more in one day of training than in one month of teaching.
What does it mean to be an independent contractor? +
Everyone who works as a trainer is an independent contractor. You are not an employee, franchisee, partner, or joint venturer. You are responsible for reporting all taxable income to the IRS (a 1099 form will be provided). This is your own small business with unlimited earning potential.
Is this a multilevel company (MLM)? +
No. Our structure is similar to other respected companies. We have a small group of corporate Executives and a larger group of National Directors who mentor our Associate trainers. There are no levels below you. It is impossible to place other trainers “under” you. Training money does not trickle upward — we share a majority of earnings with our Associates.
Are there territories for training? +
No. You can train anywhere in the country. The market for professional development training is still growing and underdeveloped. You are free to reach out to any school, anywhere.
How do trainers find school bookings? +
We spend two full days at the training answering this question in detail. We teach you a number of successful strategies that directly lead to principals inviting you to train in their schools. We give you the tools, talking points, templates, and strategies — you use them to build your business.
A school is interested in booking me. What do I do? +
Every certified trainer is assigned to a National Director with extensive experience. Your director will work with you every step of the way — writing contracts, negotiating, and closing the booking. All you have to do is show up and present well.
How do I get paid? +
Schools pay for the training provided, and we in turn pay our trainers every Friday. You are paid directly from the organization.
How much is tuition for the certification? +
Tuition is $675.00. This covers all 3 days of training, books, materials, and access to the online portal and resources. We also offer a Sponsor Program that may help offset this cost — ask about it during your interview.
Are there hidden fees after paying tuition? +
No. Your tuition covers the full 3-day certification, all books and materials, online resources, and access to our full staff of National Directors. There are no hidden fees.
Do I pay my own travel and hotel expenses? +
Yes. You pay your own travel and lodging for in-person sessions. Remember that the Sponsor Program can help cover these costs. Day 3 is always virtual, so no travel is required for that session.
What happens after I have an interview? +
If you meet our qualifications, your director will have corporate send you login information to access the Candidate Agreement. You will then receive the training book, agenda, travel tips, and pre-training homework.
Will I be certified at the end of the training? +
Yes. If your director invites you to the training after your interview and you complete the certification, you are a certified trainer. You will remain certified as long as you maintain the professionalism, personality, and passion that schools and teachers deserve.
Do you offer both in-person and virtual training? +
Yes. We offer both in-person and virtual options for the certification training and for school trainings. Trainers can choose whichever format fits their schedule. Schools can also choose on-site or virtual delivery — giving you maximum flexibility.
What does it take to be a successful trainer? +
Three things: Professionalism (be the type of professional everyone admires), Passion (a genuine desire to help students and teachers succeed), and Personality (the ability to deliver the message and connect with your audience).
